Post topic: Which Diet Is Best?

I hate to admit it, but I need to lose weight. In my younger years, I was very thin. I was also working in a hospital environment, where I got a lot of exercise just from always walking. The weight has crept up on me, though, in the years since I\'ve become a medical editor. Sitting in front of my computer 8 to 10 hours a day has definitely contributed to my weight gain.

My question is which type of diet works best in terms of keeping the weight off? Does anyone have any advice for an aging baby boomer?

I've heard that drinking a lot of water is important for weight loss - I think you probably have to cut calories and get more exercise at the same time. I know that when I've exercised a lot, I wasn't thinking about food so much either - everything works together, I guess.

I'm interested in trying the Mediterranean Diet, but I think that is more of a lifelong way to eat, rather than a quick weight-loss diet. Anyway, I'm still interested in hearing about different diets that people here on UnitedProject have tried for weight loss.

Weight Watchers is a change in lifestyle and I believe that it is the only true way to lose and keep it off. Congrats and good luck.
