Post topic: How to Avoid the Common Cold

With cold season coming upon us, I thought it would be a good time to remind everyone of some basic ways to avoid catching a common cold virus.

The best method of preventing colds is to wash your hands often with soap and water, and avoid touching your face. This is because colds are transferred via contact like handshakes or kisses.

Wipe your telephone receiver daily with a solution of water and 70-percent alcohol or 10-percent bleach. This will kill most cold germs.

Other things you can do to prevent colds are to sleep 8 to 9 hours per night, exercise at least 30 minutes each day, drink lots of water, and ease stress levels.

Ack, your comment about wiping the phone just made me think about the microphone I use when doing karaoke. We're constantly passing the mic back and forth amongst singers. I wonder what we could use to sterilize it between singers?? Anyone have any suggestions on something quick that wont ruin the mic or electricute us? LOL
