I've had a friend who lost 100 lbs on Weight Watchers. Another friend lost 30 on the Adkins Diet. I think the hard thing about any diet is adjusting how you eat. Once people go off the diet, they tend to put the weight back on because they didn't learn good eating habits. I'm a calorie counter myself. I read the labels and add up the calories throughout the day until I'm at 1500. That seems to maintain my weight. The more calories you burn (exercise), the more you can eat.

I tried the Atkins diet and it did not work for me, but have heard that Weight Watchers is a good plan.

Not every diet will work for every person. Just have to experiment til you find the best one for you.

Finding a diet that you can stick to is hard. If you like bread, you'll hate the adkins diet. Weight watchers is all about points. You eat what you want and add up the points. However, this system doesn't necessarily mean that you eat healthy. If you use all your points drinking coffee then you don't eat the rest of the day!

I know that most professionals claim that instead of dieting a person should eat healthy and limit. I know both are very hard to do, but I think dieting can actually be very hard on the body - especially the heart.
