Many of us have wondered for years exactly how we get exposed to so many germs. A new study has found that a doctors tie may be part of the culprit. This study suggests that a doctor will wash his hands but then straighten his tie, which most likely had the same germs as his hands! Read on!

I was a bit shocked but I guess it stands to reason, makes me look at ties a bit differently! LOL

Sissy, have you read any of the news stories lately that advise people who are hospitalized to ask their nurses and doctors to wash their hands when they enter their hospital room? I would be kind of embarassed to point out to a nurse or doctor that they needed to wash their hands, lol!

Yes, you're supposed to ask them to wash after they enter the room but I've never done it either. If I had a serious health condition and couldn't afford to get sick then I probably would ask... short of that, I don't think even I'm that assertive... and I'm pretty dog-gone assertive!

I never even gave a tie a second thought. I have thought about their hands before - not sure I would ask them to go wash up though!
