Post topic: Any Experience with Lyrica?

A friend of mine has fibromyalgia and is in constant pain. I've seen this new medication called Lyrica being advertised on television lately. Does anybody here have any experience with Lyrica? Has it helped your fibromyalgia? I think the TV ad says that the most common side effects are swelling of hands and feet, as well as fatigue. Are there any other side effects? Thanks for your help!

Yes weight gain and depression is the biggest issue. I've watched my fiance gain an average of 6 lbs per month and her fuse is really short. She has been on it for 4 months now and she still has the numbness, pain, and tingling in her arms and face. She also gets very itchy at times. She has had every test that can be given to a person and they all came back ok. The only real relief she gets is if she takes her vicadon for her pain. Now she is on anti depressants too. We also know another lady that was taking it and had more problems when she was on it so she quit and is on pain pills and says she will deal with it then having all that weight gain and the mood swings. I think the Lyrica is over rated in the commercial.
