I have been a life-long smoker, and it is certainly taking a toll on my health lately. I started smoking when I was 14, and now I am 52. (I am trying to quit -- I just need to go to town first and get some nicotine-replacement products.) I have developed a chronic cough in the past year or so that worries me a lot, but I can't afford to see a doctor. From what I've read about coughs, I'm pretty sure it's chronic bronchitis. Does anyone know of any over-the-counter treatments or herbs I could try to alleviate this darn cough? Thanks!

I will be turning 53 years old in September. I am still having monthly menstraul periods, although they only last a couple days. The past few months, I have been experiencing extreme mood swings, hot flashes. night sweats, dry skin, and "pins and needles" sensations on my arms and legs. Does anyone know if the over-the-counter remedies, such as Black Cohosh and Soy, really work? Are they safe??

I have lived with scoliosis most of my life, and have undergone 7 major spinal surgeries since I was 14 years old. The past year or so, I have been enduring unbelievable pain. I haven't been able to see a doctor, though, because I have no health insurance. I'm wondering if anybody can suggest herbal drugs sold over-the-counter that are designed to relieve pain and muscle spasm? Thank you for your help!
