Can’t afford to be a diabetic

Sunday, March 4th, 2007

The first thought that came to my nephew’s mind when he was diagnosed as a diabetic was not the well being and his future, but the fact that he couldn’t afford to be a diabetic.

The implications of a single parent with two children and a limited income are a lifetime of unbelievable stress and worry on how to pay for the medication.

Dennis has worked hard to make a good home for his children. He is presently trying to work, go to school to be a paramedic and raise his two children.

I ask you to please help him to receive the medication that he needs in order to maintain a healthy and positive life.

Insurance premiums have gotten too high!

Sunday, March 4th, 2007

My employer of 2 1/2 years still does not offer insurance to the employees. My husband has had very high premiums through his employers, and it is not easy to afford their policies. We have had prescription coverage in the past(through medical insurance), but prescriptions are expensive, with or without the insurance. My daughter and I both have asthma, and my husband has severe chronic sinusitis. We all need some kind of daily prescription medication, but we just can’t afford it!

Unable to qualify

Sunday, March 4th, 2007

We lost our insurance a year ago. Since then we have to pay for all our medical bills. The say we make to much money to qualify for any assistance. Yet we do not make enough money to be able to pay what they want a month for private insurance. This has placed a real hardship on our family.
