Lost weight, lowered cholesterol and saved money!
Two or more years ago I had chronic stomach trouble, a slight gut and about 25 pounds too many on my 5′7″ frame. After a physical I was dismayed by how much weight I had gained. I decided to do something about it. My Dr. prescribed Lipitor and Lisinipril (for very slight high blood pressure). My wife and I bought and read the “South Beach Diet” book. It sounded right for us. We immediately began the severe first phase. I also adjusted my sales job so that I rode the bus on days I didn’t need to see customers. Generally my calls could be made one day a week. I also found a bus route that gave me about a mile walk in the morning and the same in the evening when I came home.
Over a 6 month period I lost 32 pounds, I have stopped taking the Lipitor because I have stayed active, even though I have changed jobs. My last physical I was still down close to 30 pounds, and blood pressure and cholesterol were with-in normal levels. My wife has a similar story without the cholesterol and blood pressure issues. She lost about 35 pounds and looks great. We both feel great and enjoy playing with our grandkids without exhausting ourselves.
