No Insurance

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

I am 21-year-old student who has a part-time low-paying job. I don’t have any ongoing medical cost but a bottle of antibiotics takes my whole paycheck. I went to the doctor for a case of the flu and cost a hundred dollars. The pharmacy said the antibiotics and cough syrup would be fifty some dollars. It didn’t do any good to go to the doctor because now I don’t have the money for medicine. Would appreciate any discount I can get.

I was in a serious car accident about 15 years ago, and got Epilepsy from it. I have been on Dilantin 500mg. As long as I stay on this, the seizure activity is controlled. Any advice?

Hit And Run Victim

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

Hello. My name is Sarah F. I am a victim of a hit and run car accident. Since I do not have car, or medical insurance, I wasn’t able to recover well from the accident. I have injured my neck; though I have received no medical attention for it. I also wrecked my car beyond repair and lost my job due to lack of transportation.

Living Life Without a Pituitary gland

Tuesday, December 19th, 2006

I was born with a brain tumor (benign) if there is such a thing, that wasn’t diagnosed until I was seventeen. At that point, it had already knocked out my pituitary gland, stunted my growth and forced me to live a very ill life with little or no immune system in operation. In order to survive, I must manually take order viagra super active, buy brand levitra, buy cialis super active, viagra professional, cialis professional all of the hormones the body produces. This includes some you may have never heard of that are very, very, expensive! My husband has just been laid off and without these meds I will die. I must find ways to get my meds no matter what the cost. It is financially such a drain on us we really need all the help we can get. I hope this helps.

My Brush With Death

Monday, December 18th, 2006

I have high blood pressure and the medication I was on was working or I thought it was working until I had an aneurysm one day and ended up in the hospital under a drug induced coma for nearly a month. When I came out if it, my Dr prescribed me different meds, which I have been on since then. Since I can’t work and I don’t qualify for any kind of state insurance I’ve been getting help from my kids to pay for my meds

Florida State Doesn’t Care

Monday, December 18th, 2006

I am currently married to a man that did not father my son. Florida Kid Care doesn’t count my husband’s income, therefore they say I qualify for Medicaid. However, Medicaid does count my husband’s income and I don’t qualify for assistance. In the mean time, my son is without medical coverage. The state of Florida does not care that the biological father does not pay child support and they don’t care that they are making another man financially responsible for a child he did not rear. I am caught in the middle. My son has ADHD and his prescriptions are $144.00 monthly. Not including doctor visits, hospital stays, etc. I just need help with medical coverage and prescriptions. I am looking forward to help through program.

Why I’m Tired Of Being Sick, And Sick Of Being Tired!

Friday, December 15th, 2006

I have taken blood pressure medications for about 40 years, since the age of six. The last 10 years I have also had to add antidepressant medications to the list. However, I am unable to afford them anymore. I work and provide for a family of four. I am unable to afford the health insurance offered through my employer. It’s a sad commentary on our society that the rich can obtain medications, the lazy can be given them through the government, but those of us in the middle can’t afford them. I don’t want a handout. I want to be able to afford the medications I have been prescribed.

I Work As Hard As I Can

Friday, December 15th, 2006

Ahh. Where to begin? Well I am a 27-year-old mom of a 20-month boy. We are trying to get a house and nonetheless living with my parents. I have a full time job plus my duties otherwise. I work as hard as I can and it is still not enough. I am slightly overweight and a little depressed about how my life has become. But I am full of hope due to the endless love for my son. His beauty is equivalent in happiness and that gets me through everything. I am trying to get up on my feet and it’s hard to do it alone. But we are trying. We appreciate the generosity of people trying to make a difference. Thank you, to those of you!

Lady Sings the Blues

Friday, December 15th, 2006

I’m 54 yrs old and have been at the same job for the last 22 years. Sure, I have health insurance through my employer, but the co-pays for my meds aren’t exactly co-pays! Over the last two years I was diagnosed with emphysema, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and osteoporosis. Some of the medication I am supposed to take is so expensive that I have had to quit taking them. As far as taking a “generic” brand goes, there is only one of my medications that is available in the generic form. My emphysema medication alone can cost anywhere from $100.00 or more. I can’t afford that or the other medication I am supposed to be taking so I am not currently taking ANY of the meds I am supposed to be on. I had to quit taking them all because of the cost of the medications. I live pretty much on a budget, so it’s impossible for me to afford them without some kind of help. I’m not sure what to do because without the medication I need my health will only deteriorate and get worse and that is a very scary thought in my eyes. It’s been over 6 months now that I have been without the meds, but what are you supposed to do when you can’t afford them even with insurance? HELP
