Florida State Doesn’t Care
I am currently married to a man that did not father my son. Florida Kid Care doesn’t count my husband’s income, therefore they say I qualify for Medicaid. However, Medicaid does count my husband’s income and I don’t qualify for assistance. In the mean time, my son is without medical coverage. The state of Florida does not care that the biological father does not pay child support and they don’t care that they are making another man financially responsible for a child he did not rear. I am caught in the middle. My son has ADHD and his prescriptions are $144.00 monthly. Not including doctor visits, hospital stays, etc. I just need help with medical coverage and prescriptions. I am looking forward to help through program.
