About Us
UnitedProject was founded by a group of ordinary folks who were searching for ways to save on their sky-high medical bills. Soon it became a full time project, others have joined in, and a vibrant community was born. They called it UnitedProject.

It soon became clear that our members were deriving a great deal of value not just from receiving substantial discounts on their healthcare bills, but also sharing and supporting each other. We strongly encourage you to participate in the UnitedProject community activities and events by submitting your stories, adding your comments and lending your votes!

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide safe and secure environment for anyone wishing to get access to better healthcare options, give and receive support, and help affect positive social change.

We at UnitedProject don't have all the answers on how to fix the broken healthcare system - but we hope to make a difference by providing resources, by raising awareness and by helping build a strong and united community to carry on the message.

Problem effecting both Insured and Uninsured

A 2005 report "Seeing Red: Americans Driven into Debt by Medical Bills", by Commonwealth Fund, states that nearly two out of five adults ages 19 and older in the United States, an estimated 77 million adults, struggle with their medical bills and have recent or accrued medical debt, or both.

Uninsured

The scope of the health care crisis in America is reaching epic proportions and touches the lives of millions of Americans daily. According to the US Census Bureau 2005 Report, there were 46.6 million people in the U.S. without any healthcare insurance coverage. Uninsured adults are most likely to go without needed medical care longer and to incur medical debt. Society's most vulnerable, including lower-income people, children, minority Americans, and elderly are hit especially hard.

Underinsured

According to the Health Affairs 2005 study "Insured But Not Protected: How Many Adults Are Underinsured?" in addition to over 40 million uninsured, another 16 million adults went underinsured in 2003, meaning their insurance did not adequately protect them against catastrophic health care expenses. Inadequate coverage, just like no coverage at all, creates obstacles to care and other financial and emotional burdens.

Coverage Gaps

Compared with the sufficiently insured, the underinsured were less likely to have coverage in these 3 key areas:

In addition underinsured were more likely to face deductibles of $500 or more. Nearly one-half paid premiums that amounted to 5 % or more of their total annual income.
